On Thursday, a special Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court sentenced a 79-year-old man to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl.
According to the Asian Age, Allauddin Sayyed, the accused, was sent to 10 years of imprisonment by special judge Nandkishore L. More. The judge held that the prosecution has proved beyond reasonable doubt Allauddin had raped the minor girl. The incident took place on April 12, 2016, when the girl was 6-years-old. The mother of the victim heard the girl’s cries from the house of the accused.
After when the girl’s mother asked her why she was crying, the girl then narrated her entire ordeal. She told her parents that the accused had taken her inside his house removed her clothes and sexually assaulted her. After which the victim’s mother lodged a complaint at Trombay Police station and the accused was arrested. But in court, Allauddin Sayyed’s lawyer contended that the accused has been falsely implicated in the case. The court relied upon a medical report which evaluated that the victim was subjected to sexual abuse within 12 hours from the examination of the victim. The court also relied upon the victim’s statement recorded under section 164 CrPC. The victim stood by her statement and the court on Thursday sentenced Allauddin Sayyed to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.
