Mumbai: 5 Mah Girls Bn NCC, Mumbai conducted a combined annual training camp which took of on May 13 and will go on till May 22 at the MMP Shah College, Matunga, wherein 450 cadets along with associate NCC officers of various institutions of Mumbai and surrounding districts participated.
Camp Commandant Col SK Bakshi and Deputy Camp Commandant Maj Lovy Sharma took charge of the event. Camp commandant during the opening address deliberated upon the aim of the camp, who apprised the cadets to develop qualities of self-discipline, leadership, comradeship during the days of camp life.
Extensive training in field craft and battle craft, firing, drill and weapon training was imparted to the cadets during the camp. Demonstration in fire fighting, disaster management, traffic signals and improvised explosive devices had also been given to the cadets.
Apart from educative talk in time management, HIV-AIDS awareness, health, hygiene, social skills and etiquettes, career counselling will also be given to the cadets. Brig Shardendu, Gp Commander Mumbai A Group visited the camp today. He reviewed the training activities and demonstration given by cadets. All cadets were encouraged to put in their best and appreciated the conduct of the camp.
Apart from grooming the cadets of NCC to become good citizens the cadets will undertake various social service activities, like visit to old home for destitute, swacha abhiyan and anti drug rally, shram daan to increase social sensitisation in the cadets.
