Mumbai: Supporters of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the North Mumbai Lok Sabha constituency, are in a celebratory mood and have ordered 3,000 kilograms of ‘motichur’ laddoos, anticipating the victory of their candidate, Gopal Shetty, even before counting begins on Thursday and the names of winners in the Lok Sabha elections are announced.
Their mood is clearly catching, as even those making the laddoos sported Modi masks during the process, to show their support. Members of the Vyas Vaiswik Parivar, the Shri Ram Samiti and the Koli Fishermen Samiti have jointly ordered the ladoos as they strongly feel Shetty will win again, with a huge margin.
The results of the exit polls have fired up party workers in the constituency. The laddoos will be distributed on Thursday. “We were confident of our candidate’s victory and the exit polls also said the same. So we have decided to distribute laddoos to all those participating in the victory rally,” said Amit Vyas, a trustee of the Vyas Vaiswik Parivar.
