In order to help people during monsoon, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) had launched a mobile app named MCGM 24*7, but now people need the app most during monsoon the app is marred by a glitch.
According to the Hindustan Times, the BMC's app is for citizens to report complaints of potholes and nullah cleaning. Now, people are currently problems on the app. While existing users can continue using the app, new users are unable to register to file monsoon-related complaints, as they are not getting a one-time password (OTP). Ankit Arora, a Borivli resident told the leading daily, “I downloaded the app recently, but despite trying multiple times I am not able to register. It asked for details such as full name, email ID and contact number for sending OTP, but the passwords were never sent.”
A senior BMC official told the Hindustan Times, “The application is live and existing users are able to use it properly. The issue is only faced by new users. We will resolve the technical glitch relating to sending text messages soon.” After launching the app, BMC had urged people to report their issues on the mobile application. The BMC has also added a new feature for users to upload photos to dispute the civic body’s claims of nullah cleaning. The BMC mobile application is available on Android and since its release, more than one lakh people have downloaded the app.
