Mumbai: 3 injured as LPG cylinder explodes at residential building in Andheri

Mumbai: Three persons, including an elderly woman, sustained burns and other injuries in a fire that broke when an LPG cylinder exploded at a residential building in suburban Andheri (W) on Sunday, police said.

The incident took place at 11.25 am at the fourth floor of Sunita Building on Yari Road. Two fire engines were pressed into service, which took half an hout to douse the blaze, they said.  Deep Desai (35) suffered 35% burns while Nilima Rawan (60) suffered head injuries both were admitted to Cooper hospital treatment. The third victim, Amadip Singh ( 27), received a minor injury in the leg and was allowed to go after the first-aid.
