Mumbai: 28 year old gang raped near Amboli

Mumbai: Seven of the eight accused have been arrested by Amboli police for allegedly gang raping a 28-year-old woman last night.

“A woman and her husband were looking for a house in a Shamnagar slum area with the help of one lady. In the night they stayed back at the house of a lady. At least eight person from the same area raped that woman. Seven accused have been arrested. Victim is stable,” said Mumbai Police spokesperson DCP Ashok Dudhe.

One of the accused is a history sheeter in Mumbai police record. The age of all the accused swings between 20 to 25.

All the accused, booked under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code, will be produced before a magistrate court to seek their police custody.

Mumbai police is carrying out several raids to nab the eighth accused who is still at large. The investigation is underway.
