Mumbai: 24-year-old man killed, two others injured after BEST bus rams into bike

On Monday, a 24-year-old man was killed, while two of his friends suffered injuries after a BEST bus dashed into their bike.

According to Mumbai Mirror, the deceased was identified as Ali Tarib Hussain Shaikh. The trio were residents of Kalina. The incident took place on Monday around 10.30 pm during a joy ride. A 17-year-old boy was driving the bike, while Shaikh was riding pillion. The trio was on their way to Carter Road when a BEST bus that was going parallel to them on their right side suddenly rammed into them near the U-Bridge.

After the bus rammed into their bike, the minor, who was driving, and other friend who was sitting in the middle fell on one side, while Shaikh came under the bus. The trio was rushed to Bhabha Hospital immediately where Shaikh declared dead. Later after postmortem, Shaikh’s body was handed over to his family. Based on the statement, the Bandra police have registered an FIR against the BEST driver.
