The Andheri Government Railway Police (GRP) has arrested a 24-year-old carpenter from Chandivali for allegedly pouring adhesive on woman commuter.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the accused has been identified as Ramveer Ramrup Chaudhary (24). The accused was arrested after he made multiple attempts to pour adhesive over various women commuters. During interrogation, the accused told cops that he did it for ‘fun’ and did not have any other motive. The accused who originally hails from Uttar Pradesh had come to Mumbai about two years ago and lived with a friend in Chandivali.
The incident took place on Friday around 9.20 am, when a woman who is identified as Gayatri Aanchal (39), was walking on FOB felt a burning sensation. Chaudhary, who randomly zeroed in on women to harass. When the crowd on the bridge increased, the accused went close to the victim and allegedly poured adhesive on Aanchal’s waist. This kind of similar incident was reported earlier too, so the cops laid a trap and nabbed Chaudhary.
The accused during questioning told the cops that he worked at a furniture store in Lower Parel and used to travel from Andheri to Lower Parel. He also confessed that he carried the adhesive with him so that he could pour it on women on his way to the office in the morning, and in the evening when he returned home. While investigating the cops found out that adhesive recovered from the accused was called as flex bonding. This adhesive leaves a rash when poured on the body parts, causing a burning sensation and redness of the skin.
