Mumbai: 16-month-old girl falls to death from five-storey building in Chinchpokli

In a shocking incident, on Tuesday 16-month-old girl fell to her death from the terrace of a five-storey building in Chinchpokli.

According to Indian Express, the baby girl was identified as Aarohi Rane. She had gone missing from home in the afternoon. She resided on the third floor with her parents in Doctor Compound, Chinchpokli. An officer from Kalachowkie police, told the leading daily, When the parents of the child could not locate her, they came to the police station and registered a case of kidnapping.”

The parents and cops launched a search operation suspecting a kidnap. The cops scrutinised the CCTV footage to ascertain if the child had left the building. As the cops didn’t spot her leaving the building, they searching each house in the building, and that is when they found the girl on the third floor covered in blood. The cops rushed her to KEM hospital where she was declared dead. The police have registered as Accidental Death Report (ADR).

On the day of the incident, the girl’s parents had gone to their uncle’s place, that is when Aarohi crawled out of their house. Police said Aarohi died due to a head injury. The police are investigating if there was any foul play in the case.
