Mumbaikars brace yourself, as Western Railway has announced an 11-hour block from 10 pm on February 2 to 9 am on February 3.
According to Mumbai Mirror, the Western Railway has announced the 11-hour block in order to carry out the demolition of Delisle road overbridge. The Delisle road bridge has been shut since July 2018. During this 11-hour block, the long distance trains arriving at Mumbai will be terminated at Dadar. The slow local train service will run up to Bandra and fast local services will run up to Dadar.
Ravinder Bhakar, chief public relations officer of Western Railway, told the leading daily, “We are going to use four road cranes of 250 MT or higher capacity, a road crane of 100 MT capacity, two road hydra-cranes of 17 MT capacity, 20 gas-cutters with required consumables like gas cylinders, cutting nozzles, five tower wagons and around 150 workers.” On February 2, last fast local for Virar will leave from Churchgate at 9.44 pm and last slow local will leave for Borivali from Churchgate at 9.39 pm.
