Mumbai: Around 1,800 MTNL employees took out a protest morcha on Friday from Goregaon Telephone Exchange to Vanrai police station. The morcha was in protest against the frequent theft of telephone copper cables and the failure on part of the police in finding a permanent and an effective solution to the problem. It was also aimed at making the general public more vigilant towards these frequent thefts.
The peaceful morcha was organised by the staff of GM (West 2) Area & the Union of MTNL. A memorandum was also submitted to the officer- in- charge of Varnai police station.
