Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Transport Corporation’s (MSRTC) latest foray, into the point to point inter-city buses from Borivali to Bandra-Kurla Complex seems to have bombed. The ‘Corporate Shivneri’ meant to serve only the corporate clientele who travel from the Western suburbs to well known corporate hub has received few takers since its launch on July 11, this year. The service despite slashing its fare from Rs.140 to Rs.100 within a week of its launch due the poor response, with average occupancy of the bus to a maximum of 20 seats. The number of seats available on this bus is 45 seats but a maximum number of only 27 seats have been seen to be occupied. “We are unable to recover daily operating cost including cost of diesel,” said a MSRTC source.
