Mumbai: Good news for the passengers travelling on Mumbai-Pune AC Shivneri bus, as the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) have planned to reduce the fare price by Rs 80 to 120. The revised old fares will come into effect from July 8.
The revised low fares will come into effect from July 8. The maximum fare cut is Rs 90 from Mumba and Rs 120 on Pune-Aurangabad route.
It is also accessible for everyone and also more commuter. It is economical, safe and comfortable to travel. This is being done in order to attract more passengers for the buses. The decision was also taken in view of competition the service is facing from share taxi and cab aggregators.
Fare on Borivli-Swargate Shivneri route will be revised from Rs 615 to Rs 525. Similarly, fare of Dadar-Pune station route will be revised from Rs 520 to Rs 440 while Dadar-Swargate fare will be reduced from Rs 540 to Rs 460.
An MSRTC official said Shivneri operate on seven different inter-city routes and operates 435 trips a daily. A total of 2.5 lakh commuters travel by these AC buses daily.
“Shivneri is very popular on Mumbai-Pune route for the past 15 years. We want to make it accessible for everyone and also woo more commuters. It is both safe and comfortable to travel,” said State Transport Minister Diwakar Raote.
