In a proactive move to improve electricity services and address grievances of industrial consumers, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (MSEDCL) held a joint meeting with key representatives from industrial associations in Patalganga on July 1. The meeting was organized to discuss power supply issues and inform stakeholders about MSEDCL’s ongoing initiatives.

Key issues discussed included frequent outages, transformer theft, maintenance delays, and underground cable damage during infrastructure works. Taking note of the concerns, Chief Engineer Sanjay Patil instructed field officers to expedite maintenance work and ensure uninterrupted power supply at consistent voltage levels. He also suggested the formation of consumer groups to facilitate direct communication through SMS alerts.

To curb the rising cases of transformer theft, companies were advised to direct their CCTV cameras towards transformer installations. Patil further emphasized the need for better coordination between MSEDCL and MIDC, especially during excavation or roadwork that could damage underground power lines.

Officers were asked to actively use the “Call Before You Dig (CBUDIG)” mobile app to prevent accidental disruptions.

The meeting also discussed the need for installation of higher-capacity transformers in critical areas to handle increased industrial load.

The session took place at the premises of M/s V-Lite Furnitech, Patalganga, and included participation from senior MSEDCL officials such as Sanjay Patil, Chief Engineer (Bhandup Zone), Dhanraj Bikkad, Superintending Engineer (Pen Circle), and V.M. Shinde, Executive Engineer (Panvel Rural Division). Industrial stakeholders were represented by members of the Additional Patalganga Manufacturing Association (APMA) and the Patalganga-Rasayani Industrial Association (PRIA).

Among the industrial representatives present were Paramjeet Singh Saini (President, APMA), Vinodkumar Gond (Secretary, APMA), D.S. Gurav (Chief Executive Secretary, PRIA), along with Prasanna Joshi, Atul Rathod, Pradeep Kurhade, Sanjay Akole, Meenal Gadge-Mokal, and others.

The joint session highlighted the importance of public-private coordination in managing industrial infrastructure, with both MSEDCL and industry leaders agreeing to work closely to enhance power reliability in the Patalganga-Rasayani region.
