Mumbai : A motorman of a local train was injured after a metal sheet hit him near Mulund station on Wednesday midnight.
The local was a 12.25 Titwala local which had reached between Thane and Mulund stations when a metal sheet hit the glass and injured the motorman.
Following this, the motorman stopped the local and he was then taken to a Thane Civil hospital and was later shifted to Byculla railway hospital where he is under treatment.
A Central Railway officer said: “Construction and repair work was ongoing at Thane station and railway tracks, following which, the metal sheet had fell while the train was moving from Thane towards Mulund which left the motorman injured. The motorman is recuperating at the hospital.”
“We will investigate and find out what led to the negligence and accordingly a call will be taken. However, none of the trains were cancelled after the incident.”
