Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) operating the monorail soon to bring in two more rakes into services from June end. These two rakes are currently lying unused in Wadala depot for repairing. An official from MMRDA stated that these defunct rakes repairing work will be completed in next few days.
SCOMI Engineering, previous operator had brought 10 monorail rakes, of which one was damaged in a fire in November 2017. Currently, the entire route of monorail from Jacob Circle to Chembur is operated on five rakes. With addition of two more rakes, a total of seven rakes will be into services. While the remaining two rakes repairing seems to be difficult , said a source from the MMRDA.
