MMMOCL, will take care of Operations and maintenance of both these lines, once the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority(MMRDA) completes the civil works.

As more than 90 percent of civil work on both these lines have been completed and by next year commercial operations on entire corridor will begin. The MMMOCL geared up with other related works in O&M.

The MMMOCL had started dynamic trial run on 20 km stretch between Dhanukarwadi and Aarey on both Metro Line 7 and 2A.

According to the MMMOCL, the maintenance of the track and supply of manpower has been estimated at cost of Rs 1.57 crore. Interested bidders can make submission before July 30, 2021. While the sale of tender document will be available from June 30th onwards for the said work.

On Metro Line 7 and 2A, Japan imported head hardened HH1080 grade rails have been laid. Once placed at the viaduct the rails are welded using Mobile Flash butt welding machine. The Ballastless track laying work begins thereafter. This type of track is recommended on viaducts as the regular cleaning and replacement of ballast at such location will not be possible.

The two corridors, once operational, are expected to carry around 12.77 lakh passengers daily between Dahisar and Andheri by 2031.
