Bhayandar  : The Mira Road police have registered a case against a local construction company on alleged charges of illegally felling two Ashoka trees and trimming four in Mira Road. However no arrests have been made so far.

According to the police, a complaint was registered by the Tree Authority (TA) of the Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) against Shanti Star Builders for felling and trimming the trees allegedly to facilitate its construction project in the Sector IV area located in sprawling Shanti Nagar complex in Mira Road. The action followed after members of the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Yuva Mandal led by Uma Kaakde registered the complaint with MBMC following which the TA officials inspected the spot and lodged the case against the builder.

“We have registered an offence. Investigations are underway and action will be taken soon,” informed Senior PI Dhanaji Kshirsagar.
