Mumbai: More than 9 months passed, still a 17-year-old boy’s dead body is lying in the JJ hospital mortuary. The family of Sachin Jaiswar has refused to take their son’s body and demanded a fair investigation into his death. On 12th July 2018, Sachin was taken into the custody of Dharavi police station for questioning in a mobile theft case. Later Sachin was admitted to the Sion hospital on 13th July after being badly beaten by the police officers. The boy died on 27th July.

The family is demanding an FIR against the officers of Dharavi police station, who have picked the boy for interrogation. The boy’s father Ravinder Jaiswar, a painter, said, “They took my son at night and beaten him badly because of which he died. They don’t have any evidence in the case. They forced my son to confess to the crime, but he refused to do so, and they tortured him.”

The case is transferred to CBI, but still, the demands of the Jaiswar family are unfulfilled. The investigation under CBI is still going on. “I went to the CBI office for three to four times in last few months, but every single time they give me the same reply that ‘investigation is going on’,” said Jaiswar. Jaiswar has visited the Dharavi police station several times to file the FIR but the police officers always ignored him and behaved very rudely. Sachin’s family is in pain for the last 9 months and still waiting for the justice to their son.
