Mumbai: One of the city’s biggest housing project that will generate more than 18,000 affordable houses in Motilal Nagar, Goregaon by Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA), the work for which is expected to begin from October, said Madhu Chavan, Chairman of Mumbai MHADA Board on Tuesday. He further added that the project will be a micro city having all the facilities. Besides this, on the 140 acres of land along with the construction of affordable houses, children’s home, women’s hostel and two mini-hospitals will also be built by MHADA.
Apart from building houses for the lower, middle, and higher income category people, the houses will be sold out in the Mumbai Board lottery. Around 3,628 families who have been living here will also be provided with 1,100 square feet of new house. Currently, the families continue to live in a ground plus one structure. Moreover, to make the project successful, MHADA is also plans to sign a joint venture with other agencies or developers who can offer the best deal, said Chavan.
