Mumbai: The suburban train services will be affected due to a mega block on Western Railways (WR), Central Railways (CR) – mainline and harbour line – on Sunday. According to CR, the slow trains running between Matunga-Mulund from 10.57 am to 3.52 pm will be diverted on the fast track. However, these trains will halt at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund stations. Since trains will not halt at Vidyavihar, Kanjurmarg and Nahur stations, commuters of these stations will be allowed to travel through Ghatkopar, Bhandup and Mulund stations.
Furthermore, the trains leaving Kalyan from 10.54 am to 3.06 pm for Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) will halt at Diva, Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar and Kurla stations. However, during this time, the trains will run 15 minutes behind schedule. Similarly, trains leaving CSMT 10.48 am to 3.40 pm will halt at Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup, Mulund and Diva stations and will run 20 minutes behind schedule. Also, all trains leaving or arriving CSMT between 11.00 am and 5.00 pm will be run 10 minutes behind schedule.
Train services on Harbour line, leaving CSMT or Vadala Road from 11.34 am to 4.23 pm for Vashi or Belapur or Panvel and trains leaving CSMT for Bandra or Andheri or Goregaon from 9.56 am to 4.16 pm will remain suspended. Similarly, the trains leaving Panvel or Belapur or Vashi from 9.53 am to 2.44 pm for CSMT and trains leaving Bandra or Andheri or Goregaon from 10.45 am to 4.58 pm for CSMT will remain suspended. Special services will run between Panvel and Kurla (platform no 8) for commuters convenience during the block period. Also, the Harbour line commuters will be permitted to travel through CR and WR from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm during the block.
In addition, the Rentral Railway will have traffic and power block on Karjat-Khopoli section, due to the infrastructure upgrade work. The block will be held for reconstruction of bridge no.109/3 between the Karjat-Khopoli section from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm on Sunday. Due to this work, few trains-locals and long distance, will be cancelled. The Karjat-Khopoli locals leaving Karjat at 10.40 am, 11.55 am and 13.15 am will be cancelled. Similarly, the Khopoli-Karjat locals leaving Khopoli at 10.00 am, 11.20 am and 12.40 am will be cancelled. The CSMT-Khopoli locals leaving CSMT at 07.30 am, will remain cancelled between Karjat and Khopoli. The Khopoli-CSMT local leaving Khopoli at 1.48am will also remain cancelled between Khopoli and Karjat.
