Mumbai : In additional trouble for two police officers and a constable who had been accused of rape and extortion by a Mumbai-based small time model, the medical reports of the victim has revealed that she had bite marks on her body and also confirmed that she had been subjected to oral sex.

On April 22, the victim, who is a native of north India, met with the Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria after she sent him an SMS the previous day about the incident that had occurred on the intervening night of April 3 and 4.

In the meeting she alleged that she had been raped by an officer attached with the Sakinaka police station after he and his colleagues took her to the Sangharshnagar police chowki for questioning following a failed trap.

The woman also alleged that the policemen had extorted cash and jewellery worth around Rs 9 lakh from her and her friend by threatening to charge them for running a prostitution racket following which a case of rape and extortion had been registered against the said accused and their accomplices.

“The victim’s medical reports have revealed that the woman’s hair was pulled and that she had bite marks on her breasts. The reports further confirm that she was subjected to oral sex which confirms rape under the extended definition under the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” confirmed a senior police official.

Police sources said that even though there was no sexual intercourse, one of the accused, Assistant Police Inspector (API) Sunil Khatpe (34) has been booked under the extended definition of rape as under Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code.

So far, eight persons including API Khatpe, API Suresh Suryavanshi (36), and Constable Yogesh Ponde (36) along with their accomplices Javed Shaikh (35), Ibrahim Khan alias Immu (42), Tanveer Hasmi (34), Ayesha Malviya (24) and Sanjay Ronge alias Rahul (34) have been arrested in connection with the case.

The eight accused have been remanded to police custody until April 29 while the police are on the lookout for one other person.
