Mumbai: A 30-year-old man was stabbed in the neck outside the GTB Nagar railway station on Wednesday afternoon. The victim, Dinesh Nadar, is currently undergoing treatment at the Sion hospital, said police.
Sion police arrested Dinesh’s wife Saranya and her sister Kalyani for the alleged attack while Kalyani’s husband and her father are still at large.
Around 1pm, Dinesh was to meet his wife Saranya and other relatives outside GTB Nagar railway station to sort out differences between them. When he was talking to his wife, she suddenly took out chilly powder and threw it into his eyes.
Then, she stabbed him in the neck with a knife. A policeman, who was crossing the area, rushed to his rescue and took Dinesh to Sion hospital, while the assailants fled the spot.
After recording the statement of the victim husband, police registered a case of attempt to murder against the four assailants and arrested his wife Saranya and her sister Kalyani.
The Sion police said due to a family feud, Dinesh had left home four months ago.
