Mumbai: A 46-year-old man, Michael Swami, residing in Navy Nagar, Colaba was shot dead by his neighbour Silveraj Pillai (38) on Sunday between 4-7 pm. Swami and Pillai both knew each other and used to live together previously. On Sunday afternoon, a woman living in the neighbourhood, Shobha Parsevad, asked Pillai about where he is going. Suddenly, Pillai shot Parsevad’s foot with his gun. He then went to Swami’s house and shot him on the left side of his face for unknown reasons. Swami was rushed to G T Hospital where he was declared dead. While Swami is still at large, the police remain unclear about the motive behind the murder. Pillai is a history sheeter who was previously banished from Mumbai by the police.
