Mumbai : A man has been arrested for making a hoax call to the police control room about bombs placed in two leading civic hospitals in the city.
The accused, identified as Shakti Velu, called the police control room at around 12.15 pm on Thursday.
He allegedly informed the officer that he hailed from West Bengal and a man had come to him and said that a bomb each had been placed in LTGM hospital located in Sion hospital and KEM hospital in Parel.
The authorities, after conducting thorough checks of the hopsital and taking precationary measures, found out the call to be hoax.
A CIU team then apprehended the person who placed the call and also recovered the mobile phone used by him. Velu, is said to be a BMC worker and the Azad Maidan Police are looking into the case.
