Mumbai: A man was arrested from Pune, for allegedly stalking and harassing a senior state government bureaucrat for the last two to three months. The Bandra Kurla Complex's Cyber police station had registered a case in April and the arrest was made from Pune on Saturday. According to the police sources, the accused, Sharif Gafar Khan, a resident of Pune, had stalked a state government bureaucrat on various social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, allegedly sending her indecent messages and harassing her.
After a complaint was registered in April, the police began the investigation and traced the Internet Protocol (IP) address to that of Khan in Pune. Subsequently, a police team was sent to Pune and Khan was arrested.
