Bhayandar : A man working at a milk dairy here was arrested by the Navghar police on charges of killing a dog.
According to police, the incident was reported from posh Indralok residential area in Bhayandar (east) on Monday. The accused, Bha-gunath Yogi, mercilessly hit the dog with a rod. The profusely bleeding dog collapsed and succumbed to injuries. The arrest follo-wed after a complaint in this context was registered by animal welfare crusader Manisha Charaniya. “Yogi was arrested and charged under section 428 of the IPC and under section 11 (1) (a) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act, 1960. However, he was let off on bail by the District Sessions Court, ” informed Senior PI AS Kurundkar.
