Mumbai: One more person has been died in the Malad wall collapse tragedy, taking the total death toll to 27. On Friday, Sunil Jadhav, 50, was declared dead by the hospital authorities after he failed to resist his injuries and went into sudden cardiac arrest. Jadhav who worked as a daily wage labourer, had suffered multiple injuries, including a rib fracture and a hip joint dislocation. He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Cooper hospital, Juhu.
A doctor from Cooper hospital said, Jadhav was undergoing non-invasive method of treatment for his injuries and on Friday early morning, his condition deteriorated, following which, he was declared dead at 6:30 am. He, along with his wife Sarubai (49) and son Ravi (21), was living in one of the huts that got crushed on July 2, when the wall collapsed.
On Friday the chairman of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Commission (BMC) standing committee, Yashwant Jadhav asked the administration to lodge a First Investigation Report (FIR) against the contractors - Omkar engineers, who had constructed the wall.
