Vasai : Pre-historic Vasai culture and its values are being showcased in ongoing ‘Mahi Vasai’ event at Chimaji Appa ground here. The event was inaugurated on Saturday. The event would be open for all till November 23.
The mega event has been systematically organised on a 7-acre piece of land in which ancient living ambiance has been set-up. The Vasai fort’s structure has been raised here which is attracting everyone’s attention. Hundreds of people are working round the clock to remind people of Vasai’s history.
Vasai Taluka has more or less become a cosmopolitan wherein people from across the globe and various communities have settled and live peacefully. The ‘Mahi Vasai’ event will help everyone comprehend the culture and take them into history of Vasai for a brief moment. On a daily basis, the culture of various communities like Aagri, Wadval, Koli, Christians, Samvedi, Aadivasis etc is being showcased through folk songs and plays.
As many as 150 statues of all important personalities from pre-historic arena are also kept for display. It will help visitors to understand the involvement of all of those great persons in shaping up Vasai and its culture.
