The MTDC on Saturday launched its ‘open deck buses‘ for people wanting to take a darshan of Marine Drive and other tourist spots of Maximum City

Mumbai: Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation celebrates Daan Utsav by organizing a host of initiatives with Mumbai First, a non-profit organization that aims to make the city a better place to live, work and invest in.

It was launched in 2009 it encourages people to do act of their given choices. Daan Utsav – the Joy of Giving Week is celebrated in India every year commencing on Gandhi Jayanti till 8th October.

 The special free joy rides of Mumbai Darshan Tours for senior citizens has been organised by the MTDC on 7th of October. These rides will go across key heritage spots and important places of Mumbai like Bhau Daji Lad museum, Siddhivinayak Temple, Bandra Bandstand, Nehru Science Centre, Gandhi’s Mani Bhavan, Taraporewala Aquarium, Haji Ali dargah, Mahim dargah, Mayor’s Bungalow and Gateway of India starting from CST.

Another program organised was the ‘Hamara Station Hamari Shaan’ initiative – a beautification programme of 36 railway stations in Mumbai. To support this initiative, MTDC will be by providing photographs, designs and creative’s of tourism destination at all levels.

Swati Kale, General Manager of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation says,” Under the dynamic guidance of Jaykumar Jitendrasingh Rawal,  Minister of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra and Dr. KH Govinda Raj, Managing Director of MTDC, we are pleased to extend our hands to Mumbai First. Millions of Indians gear up to celebrate India’s festival of giving.”

The Daan Utsav has not only helped the cause of philanthropy, but has also offered a platform for people to be responsible towards the society.
