Palghar, Maharashtra: A tragic accident occurred in Boisar's BARC (Tarapur Atomic Power Station Residential Complex) this morning, claiming the life of an elderly woman and seriously injuring her husband. The tragic incident occurred when Dr. R. K. Das, a doctor at TAPS Hospital in Boisar, reportedly lost control of his vehicle and struck the couple as they were leaving the hospital.

Eyewitnesses reported that the vehicle dragged the elderly couple for about 10 to 15 feet. The deceased has been identified as Chhayalata Vishwanath Arekar, aged 73. Her husband sustained severe injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

According to preliminary information, the elderly couple had visited the hospital for a medical check-up. The accident occurred as they were exiting the premises when Dr. Das's car allegedly hit them with significant force.

Following the incident, local residents expressed outrage. The Boisar police have taken Dr. Das into custody and have registered a case against him. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
