Mumbai: The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) has received the national e-governance silver award in Delhi recently. The programme was organised by the department of administrative reforms and public grievances. Gautam Chatterjee, MahaRERA chairman said, the union government recognised our work and its a great achievement.
“We put out a digital platform were we have managed to achieve maximum governance with minimum government. Everything is done without any physical interference with zero footfall and zero paperwork.
Moreover, our competition with other states was not only for setting up RERA first, but it was with various other sectors like railways, ministry of telecommunications, wind power energy and other for delivering citizen centric services and addressing the grievances through digital platform.” The MahaRERA was set up in May 30, 2017 and Maharshtra state is the first state that has installed this digital platform to register real estate projects and make builders accountable.
Chatterjee informed, till date around 99,500 real estate projects have been registered with the MahaRERA. These projects will create 20 lakh houses in state. Also, 20,000 real estate agents have registered. Furthermore 6,000 grievance have been lodged of which 4,000 are soon to be disposed off.
