NCP spokesperson Clyde Crasto slammed Devendra Fadnavis for overturning ex-CM Uddhav Thackeray's decision of moving Metro 3 car shed from Aarey to Kanjurmarg.
Crasto said, "With so many important issues that need to be looked into in Maharashtra, what does the new Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis do? He proposes to move the Metro car shed back to Aarey. Re-creating a problem solved by the MVA government. Green lung of Mumbai is in danger once again. What will he gain?"
On the other hand, the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee President Nana Patole said the decision to develop metro car shed in Aarey Colony was playing with the health of Mumbaikars.
Patole said that environmentalists and Mumbaikars are strongly opposed to constructing the Aarey Metro car shed.
‘’We are not against development work, we are not against the Mumbai Metro project. The decision to set up a metro project was first taken with the Congress-led government. Our stand is clearly to develop the metro rail network and car shed but not at the cost of the environment,’’ he noted.
