Mumbai: Maharashtra Congress finalised seven names of the 26 listed constituencies initially for the Lok Sabha election, which the party will contest. In the seven constituencies, there are no competitor for the candidates, whereas for the remaining seats, there are two to three names that has been finalised. The state unit has sent a recommendation of these probables for the 26 of the total 48 Lok Sabha constituencies to the party high command.
Milind Deora (Mumbai South), Sushil Kumar Shinde (Solapur), Charulata Tokas (Wardha), Mukul Wasnik (Ramtek), Rajeev Satav (Hingoli), Manikrao Thakre (Yavatmal) and Amita Chavan (Nanded) are the seven names, whereas there is no other names in their respective constituencies. These names will be tabled in the All India screening committee for the final approval. The committee will confirm the candidature. The state Congress had a meeting to discuss names suggested from district committees.
