Maharashtra: Active COVID-19 cases drop below 3 lakh; recovery rate rises to 93.24%

There are 2,89,088 active cases in the state.

Maharashtra on Friday witnessed less than 30,000 COVID-19 cases for the ninth consecutive day. The state recorded 20,740 new cases, taking the total number of active cases below the 3 lakh-mark. As per the health department data, there are 2,89,088 active cases in the state. Besides, 424 COVID-19 deaths were reported in the day, taking the number of total fatalities to 93,198.

31,671 patients were discharged in the day, taking the tally to 53,07,874. The recovery rate in the state rose to 93.24%. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.64%.

Currently, 21,54,976 people are in home quarantine and 16,078 people are in institutional quarantine.

The Mumbai circle --which consists of MCGM, Thane, TMC, Navi Mumbai, KDMC, Ulhasnagar MC, Bhivandi Nijampur MC, Mira Bhayandar MC, Palghar, Vasai Virar MC, Raigad, Panvel MC--recorded 3033 new cases on Friday.

The Nashik circle--which consists of Nashik, Nashik MC, Malegaon MC, Ahmednagar, Ahmednagar MC, Dhule, Dhule MC, Jalgaon, Jalgaon MC, Nandurbar--reported 2312 fresh COVID-19 cases.

The Pune circle--which includes Pune, PMC, PCMC, Solapur, Solapur MC, Satara--recorded 5789 new cases.

The Kolhapur circle reported 4120 new cases, Aurangabad circle 759, Latur circle 1315, Akola circle 2422, and Nagpur circle recorded 1001 new COVID-19 cases on Friday.
