Nagpur: Two minors were raped at knife-point in Nagpur on Wednesday, another in a series of crimes that have rocked the hometown of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently.
The incident reportedly occurred near the Haldiram factory on the old Bhandara Road in Nagpur. The sisters, aged 4 and 7, are residents of Mini Mata Nagar. Police said the girls had gone out to play on the ground near their house in the evening when a stranger offered to take the children home.
Instead, he took them into the bushes off the old Bhandara Road where he threatened them at knife-point and raped them. He then fled, leaving the children in the dark. Somehow, the scared kids made their way home with the help of locals. Their parents immediately took them to the nearest government hospital for a medical examination.
The girls are currently under treatment. A complaint has been filed against unknown people, since police are yet to nab the accused. The minute police were informed by the hospital, they began a search for the accused. However, 24 hours later, there has been no breakthrough in the case.
