Governor Rao says at a MSME conference
Mumbai : Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao expressed the need for creating an army of young entrepreneurs in to set up micro, small and medium enterprises in the state to achieve higher levels of progress and prosperity, as he addressed a conference of micro, small and medium enterprises organised by the industries department at Y B Chavan auditorium here on Saturday.
Observing that the micro, small and medium enterprises are the backbone of economic development in India, he asked the state industry department to explore the possibility of organising a trade fair of MSME products and services in Mumbai to showcase the strength of Maharashtra in the MSME sector.
The theme of the conference was ‘Transform MSMEs for Transforming Maharashtra’.
Referring to the challenges faced by MSME sector such as non-availability of credit, high interest rates and requirement of multiple permissions, Rao asked the State government to aim for becoming number one State in the country in terms of the ease of doing business. He said it would be ideal to offer all necessary permissions for setting up MSMEs online.
Speaking on the occasion, state industry minister Subhash Desai expressed the commitment of the State government to bring prosperity to the State by supporting the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
