Mumbai: Preparations for counting of votes in Mumbai South and South Central Lok Sabha constituencis are complete, according to the city district collector, Shivaji Jondhale. Around 3,000 employees will be on counting duty on May 23 and ensure the process is carried out smoothly and in a transparent manner, said a press release issued by the collector’s office on Monday.
Counting will be undertaken in phases in the 12 assembly constituencies, with 14 tables at every counting station. The process will begin at 7am on Thursday.
For Mumbai South, counting will be carried out at Worli, Sewri, Byculla, Malabar Hill, Mumbadevi, and Colaba. In South Central, counting will take place in Anushakti Nagar, Chembur, Dharavi, Koliwada, Wadala and Mahim. Postal ballots, as well as electronically transmitted postal ballots, numbering around 3,384, will be counted first. Results will be declared only after all the votes are counted, said Jondhale.
