Mumbai: In a recent update regarding the Kunal Kamra-Eknath Shinde controversy, Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam stated on Monday that the government will examine the call records of the controversial comedian Kunal Kamra, as well as transactions in his account, to determine if someone is orchestrating it.
In the recent stand-up special, Comedian Kunal Kamra performed his recent political satire 'Naya Bharat'. In this video, Kamra has been seen commenting and taking a jibe at Maharashtra deputy chief minister, Eknath Shinde calling his 'Gaddar' (traitor).
The dig on the political satirists and comedian Kunal Kamra's bank statements and call records comes after ruling party's remarks of oppositions support to Kunal Kamra.
Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske, addressing the issue, remarked that Kunal Kamra is a paid comedian making remarks about his party's leader for financial gain. Mhaske said he feels pity for Sanjay Raut and the Shiv Sena (UBT) group since he had no other party members to discuss Eknath Shinde.
"Kunal Kamra is a hired comedian, and he is making comments on our leader for some money. Let alone Maharashtra, Kunal Kamra cannot freely go anywhere in India; Shiv Sainiks will show him his place. We feel sorry for Sanjay Raut and Shiv Sena (UBT) that they have no party workers or leaders left to make comments on our leader, which is why they are hiring people like him (Kunal Kamra) for the job," Naresh Mhaske said while speaking to ANI on Sunday.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis responded to the comedian's remark aimed at Eknath Shinde, saying, "(Kunal) Kamra's attempt to belittle Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde is incorrect." We disapprove of this. "Such behavior is unacceptable."
Stressing that Kamra should apologise, he added, "You cannot legitimise your fault by showing such Constitution. The Constitution gives us freedom but it is not absolute, you cannot encroach on others' freedom. There are limitations to it."
Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar, responded to the comedian's 'gaddar' remark about Eknath Shinde by saying, "No one should transgress the law, Constitution, and regulations." They ought to express themselves within their rights."

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray responded to a comedian's joke about Eknath Shinde, saying, "Why are they so concerned when no one was mentioned?" he further stated "Eknath Shinde should first answer whether he is a traitor or a thief."
