Mumbai : The civic body has decided to vaccinate the workers of Kasturba hospital to protect them from contracting swine flu. Following this decision, vaccines will be made available in the hospital for doctors and nurses. This has come after an increase in the cases of swine flu this year, said a civic official.
The officer added that doctors and nurses in the hospital are at a high risk of contracting the disease as they are in direct contact with the patients. Dr Minni Khetarpal, head, epidemiology cell, BMC, said, “It is better to take precautions from the very beginning and that is the reason we will be starting to vaccinate doctors and nurses for swine flu.”
