Mumbai: A television journalist moved the Andheri metropolitan court on Tuesday, seeking registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Bollywood star Salman Khan and his bodyguards for allegedly assaulting him after he tried to film the actor who was riding a bicycle. The complainant, Ashok Pandey, filed a complaint in the court, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code for causing hurt (section 323), robbery (section 392) and criminal intimidation (section 506). According to the complaint, the incident occurred in the wee hours of April 24, when Salman Khan was riding a bicycle escorted by two bodyguards.
Pandey said, he was driving his car and he spotted Salman cycling. Pandey began recording a video after seeking consent of Khan's bodyguards. The actor, however, got enraged claims Pandey and his bodyguards allegedly rushed back to his car and thrashed him, he said in the application. Moreover, the application mentioned, Salman also assaulted Pandey and snatched his mobile phone. The trio then threatened the journalist with dire consequences, the complaint read. Pandey approached the court after police disposed his complaint saying, no crime was committed. The application, seeking registration of FIR and probe, will be heard by the magistrate on July 12.
