Mumbai : Former and present students of JJ School of Art in Mumbai called off their two-week-long strike, which was carried out in order to demand the start of postgraduate courses and bridge courses, after a promise from the state government on Thursday regarding the same.
Representatives of the students’ union of the JJ School of Art said that they received a written reply from the state government.
In that letter, it was promised that a meeting would be held for discussion on postgraduate courses in the reputed arts school.
One student said, “If the state government backtracks on its promise, we will then start a non-cooperation movement and agitate against the state government again.”
