Mumbai : Enthral, a group of alumni of Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art 1994 batch, has organised an art exhibition, the ‘Enthral Group Art Show’ from December 29 to January 1 at Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu Sanghralay, Colaba. Half of the profit generated from the art show will be given to the NGO Child Vision Foundation (CVF), Enthral’s charity partner.
The activity has been initiated under Suhas Jadhav and other committee members of the group Shekhar Sidhaye, Uday Thakur, Milind Chaudhari, Machindra Shinde, Aparna Chaudhari, Pravin Gangurde and Nilangi More.
The event was inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon by famous Marathi actor Sachin Khadekar and choreographer and film director Mahesh Limaye.
The art exhibition is showcasing creative talent through their 1st annual art group show with three concepts: Colors of Life, Indian Culture & Light with experiments in oil, acrylic colours, digital images, sculpture and photography. A total of 75 paintings by 20 artists of the Enthral group are on display.
All the 20 artists, who have studied at JJ institute, are in different professions like IT, teaching, entertainment etc. but continue to pursue art which they have now decided to use for underprivileged children suffering from cancer, heart and kidney disorders etc.
Speaking to FPJ, Suhas Jadhav, who is working in the IT sector for 20 years, said: “We all work in different fields but we want to continue pursuing art and wish to promote it for the coming generations. We have decided to donate 50% of the profit from the exhibition to poor and needy children. And I believe this will encourage underprivileged kids, too, to realise their potential in painting and other creative ventures.”
The art exhibition is being held in Coomaraswamy Hall of Chhatrapati Shivaji Vastu Sanghralay. Art lovers and patrons can visit the exhibition till January 1 from 11 am to 7pm.
