Shiv Sena turns aggressive to break the alleged VVMC-developer nexus as they file FIR against one more AMC, the fourth, allegedly involved in creating fake documents and fake police rubber stamp.

Palghar : Finally the Vasai Gaon police registered an FIR against acting AMC of Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) Smita Bhoir for allegedly creating fake municipal and police documents and manufacturing a fake police rubber stamp to conceal her crime. The complainant Dhananjay Gawde, who is a Shiv Sena corporator from Nalasopara and is also the party’s Group Leader, said that the FIR should have been registered a couple of months ago and had to take the help of Maharashtra DGP to get this FIR registered as he alleged delay on cops’ part. Till now, Three acting AMCs of the VVMC (Suresh Thorat, Sudhakar Sankhe, Nilam Nijai) have already been suspended and undergoing inquiry for alleged corruption and to be hand in glove with local developers and it seems Bhoir would be next. Now, all eyes are set on VVMC commissioner Satish Lokhande, who would face the tough task of suspending another AMC, while they are already facing staff crunch. If Smita Bhoir is suspended considering the alleged crime, the VVMC would end up busy investigating its own officers than chalking out the development of Vasai. Meanwhile Bhoir has been booked under IPC sections 465, 466, 468, 471, 472, 420 and 34 and the cops are investigating further.

Story till now…

On 13 August 2015 Smith Bhoir writes to the Vasai gaon police station to initiate investigation under MRTP act 1966 under section 52, 53, 54 and 55 against developers Majid Qureshi, Farid Ali Sayyed, Issac Saharawala, Neeraj Naik, Chandrakant Mhatre, Shahid Shaikh for constructing an illegal building in Malonde, Vasai east on survey number 812. She again wrote to the cops stating that the concerned people had submitted documents, the very next day, on 14 August proving that the building was legal and all the permissions were in place. Since the offence was already registered the cops followed up on a regular basis with the acting AMC Smita Bhoir, who ignored all the communications from the cops, and finally wrote to the municipal commissioner about the entire incident and delay in getting replies. In the mean time, Dhananjay Gawde got a confirmation from the VVMCs Town Planning department that no such permissions were issued to the building in question in Malonde, Vasai east. Since Gawde was following this issue he was invited by Bhoir for a detailed discussion. To clear her stand she also gave him a copy of a letter dated 18 August 2015 forwarded to the Vasai cops, by her, asking for action against the developers in question as the building was illegal. Gawde found something amiss in this letter, as technically, a Buckle Number is always mentioned in the letter who acknowledges an in-ward, and approached the Vasai cops who denied receiving such letter, after thoroughly checking their in-ward. Since it was confirmed that the letter issued was fake and a fake police rubber stamp was also used in this, Gawde approached the Vasai cops to file an FIR against Bhoir. “Since the filing of FIR didn’t take place for around 2 months I approached the Maharashtra DGP Pravin Dixit who further directed the Vasai police to act on this issue”, said Gawde.

Bhoir and Lokhande didn’t answer the phone calls and also didn’t revert on the sms sent to them on this entire episode.
