Mumbai: The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) who has been extensively working in the field of menstrual hygiene, have conducted several interactive workshops and distributed annual packages of sanitary napkins to the underprivileged girls in the city.
Last year, IRCS distributed hampers of sanitary napkins to approximately 5,000 students from economically weak background. Each girl was provided a hamper of sanitary napkins consisting of 12 packets (each for one month). This year too they continue to contribute to the cause by not only spreading awareness but also distributed an annual package of sanitary napkins to approximately 7,000 underprivileged girls so far.
They also celebrated the momentous occasion with tribal women of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, which witnessed more than 100 ladies present on the event who were handed over the annual package of sanitary napkins.
