Mumbai : Though there are no further developments in the rape and molestation case against Deputy Inspector General of police, Sunil Paraskar, the FIR registered by the complainant, a 27-year-old model, has thrown up many juicy and interesting details about the affair.

The complainant and Paraskar knew each other for more than a year now, the FIR said. They met for the first time in or around April 2013 when the complainant wanted to register a case against her brother who had harassed her mother for property. Paraskar was then Additional Commissioner of Police for North Region and helped her in filing the case.

In October, the model filed a molestation complaint against a neighbour in her society at the Goregaon police station. A little while after filing the complaint, she received a message from Paraskar, which said, “You cannot handle this case alone, you contact me.” However, the complainant didn’t approach him this time.

By this time, the model had also started getting lewd messages from men on her Facebook and Twitter accounts. After re-searching on Google in November, she realised that someone was running a website for escort services in her name. This was the reason she was receiving lewd messages. This time she approached Paraskar who in turn referred her to one Ms Manisha Nalawde who was attached to the Goregaon police station then. However, Nalawde did not file an FIR in the case, the FIR stated.

The complainant informed Paraskar about him and in either November or December, the two met at Bandra Reclamation Junction and went either to Thane or Navi Mumbai. The complainant noticed that they had reached “a posh building with several floors”. This is where the molestation supposedly happened.

After a week of this incident, the two met again and went to a bungalow in Madh Island. He told her that she could use the bungalow free of cost for shoots. It was here that the rape took place.

On January 2, an FIR in the case of the escort service was filed and all the accused were arrested.

According to the FIR, Paraskar then leaked the information of this case to the media due to which the complainant got angry and sent him emails and text messages. In February, Paraskar met the complainant again along with her sister in his office, and gifted her an i-phone and took away her other phone.

He then started asking her to gift him something in return for his help in registering the complaint at Goregaon police station. She gifted him a watch of the Longines brand worth approximately Rs 70,000.

After a while they met at a hotel in Santa Cruz where the complainant took her business manager along. There she gifted him a Monte Blanc wallet, pen and perfume worth Rs 57,000. Paraskar asked her if she could put him in a word with anyone who could stop his transfer. The three again met at a restaurant in Bandra, where Paraskar’s wife was present too. Here the FIR states, “I wanted to tell Mr Paraskar’s wife about his behaviour with me but I did not get a chance to do so as Mr Paraskar did not leave her side even for a minute.”

The complainant has also said in her statement that she has a record of messages exchanged between her and Paraskar.

These could become crucial pieces of evidence in the future investigation of the case.
