Parents of the deceased are unhappy with the current investigations and demand a CBI inquiry

Palghar : A second investigation team under the supervision of Boisar DySP Vijaykant Sagar was formed to conduct parallel investigations in the Vagad school students’ drowning incident.

The parents of all the three students, who drowned trying to escape from the Vagad hostel, had come to meet the IG.

Leading them was Viren Shah, FRTWA (Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Association) who said, “We are not happy with the current investigations and have demanded a CBI inquiry. The IG has formed another team to conduct parallel investigations.” He also added, “How can they drown when three out of two knew swimming? There are a lot of angles through which proper investigation is required.”

IG Amitabh Gupta said, “We have formed another team which will be working parallel on this case and reporting to Additional SP Shrikrishna Kokate. We are also awaiting the complete post-mortem report.”

Parents of the three students said that they were unhappy with the investigations and will stick to their demand of a CBI inquiry.

Three children went missing on August 25, and were found dead two days later near a drain behind the wall of Vagad International School in Vasai.

According to Virar police, three students of class 9 from Vagad International School – Meet Suresh Dhadavi, Praful Narayan Patel, Kushal Nilesh Dadha – went missing from August 25, and a complaint was registered at Virar police station.

The students were not found on the premises by the hostel superintendent and a missing complaint was registered.

After interrogating school teachers, police said, “The students had scored less marks in exams and therefore, teachers had scolded and punished them, due to which they tried to flee from the school premises.”
