Check out the stats for class-wise performance by HSC students in Maharashtra and subject-wise pass percentage in Maharashtra and Mumbai.

The Maharashtra Board Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results were declared this afternoon at 1 pm.

The overall pass percentage for Maharashtra was 86.60 per cent, with Konkan region topping the chart with 93.29 per cent. Also, the fairer sex (female) outperformed in all nine regions of the state.

Fragmentation of the results show, a high percentage of students from Aurangabad seems to have fared better than peers in other regions in terms of higher scoring marks (percentage).

Nearly 10 per cent of the students in Aurangabad scored a distinction, while another 57.73 per cent ended in the first class category. Regions with other quality results are – Mumbai (12.9 per cent distinction results and 33.59 per cent with first class). The table below displays the detailed break-up of students with different pass classes across regions.

Similarly, in terms of subject-wise performance, it seems like English was the tough subject across Maharashtra, when taken into consideration that a minimum of 100,000 students appeared for the exam for that particular subject. A total of 13.66 lakh students appeared for the English paper, of which 88.08 per cent passed. In terms of easier subject, Environment Education tops the chart with 100 per cent pass results for 13.35 lakh students appeared.

A similar subject-wise performance analysis done for Mumbai city and its suburbs – reveal that Environment Education once again was the easiest subject to clear, with 100 per cent pass results for 3.06 lakh students that took the subject. On the flip side, Maths & Statistics for the Science subject was the toughest nut to crack, with a pass percentage of 85.14 per cent from a total of 75,731 students appearing for the exam.
