Mumbai: Two people lost their lives in a hit-and-run accident, which took place at the Thakurdham junction, LBS Marg in Kurla on Wednesday. The received grievous injured and died on the spot after being hit by the unidentified vehicle, said police. The driver fled the spot without. Among the deceased, a woman was identified as Hirabai Chauhan, 50 and the other person remained unidentified.
The incident occurred early in the morning when a speeding car hit the victims and ran away. It is speculated that a speeding car killed them. Both the victims died on the spot before getting any medical assistance, added the police. Kurla police registered a hit-and-run case against an unknown person under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under the Motor Vehicles Act.
