Mumbai: The Mumbai High Court, in agreement with the city police, has asked a Kalyan-based Ganesh Utsav mandal not to display a tableau depicting the killing of a local who had joined the militant group ISIS in Iraq. “If the police feels this can result in a law and order problem, the court will not intervene,” it said in a judgement delivered on Monday. However, the court has only prevented the Vijay Tarun Mandal from displaying the tableau, based on patriotism and anti-terrorism, during Ganesh Utsav. It can choose to display it elsewhere with due police permission. The judgement was given by Justice V M Kanade and Justice Pramod Kode.
